the past is always present

Interesting article (New York Times Opinion Pages by David Lang) on the bridging the gap between the past and present - in relation to sports and also classical music.  


When it comes to dance and the past and present, my mind goes straight to choreography and authenticity.  Choreography is often thought in a very black and white frame of "creation," though whether it is the creation of something new or the creation of something old, re-worked and re-imagined - that's what we really need to think about...
